What we do
For more than 20 years Cultureflow® has delivered te reo Māori programmes across the length and breadth of Aotearoa.
We provide different styles of reo and tikanga Māori learning:
- Online group Reo classes
- Online 1 on 1 tutoring
- Online Tikanga/ Te Tiriti workshops (he iti, he pounamu - for small groups of no more than 20)
- Online Tikanga/Te Tiriti workshops for large groups (up to 100 people)

Cultureflow® brings gamification to te reo Māori learning.
Delivered alongside our partner platform, QuickSense, the Introduction to Te Ao Māori programme provides a high level overview of key concepts and useful phrases in te reo Māori.
Participants learn:
- Basic greetings
- Concepts of whanau
- Introductory phrases
- How to count in Māori
- Email etiquette and sign offs, and much more!
This programme is for true beginners: those who have had little to no exposure to te ao Māori and want to begin their journey at their own pace, on any device, in the comfort of their own home.
1-1 Tutoring
Designed for the busy individual that needs to maximise their learning time, 1-1 tutoring enables an uninterrupted, steady flow of learning.
Cultureflow® tutors cover set course material, which is then made relevant to the learners own circumstances:
- Cultureflow Intro - A beginners course in the Māori language and culture, and the Treaty of Waitangi
- Te Kete Tuatahi - A Māori language programme for beginners
- Te Kete Tuarua - The follow on course to Te Kete Tuatahi
Upon successful completion of the three-part course, learners are considered conversational in te reo Māori: equipped with a confident understanding of more than 100 phrases and 650 words in te reo Māori.
